Aromas of roses (a Touriga Nacional hallmark) mingle with fresh, balsamic notes of pine needles and a nuanced fragrance of mint. The seamlessly integrated wood lends subtle traces of vanilla. Very appealing freshness on the palate with fine acidity and rounded tannins highlighting the bright and focused ripe black fruit flavours. Compact and taut, the bottle-ageing is showing this wine at its best, although it will continue to develop favourably for several years yet.

THE WINE
Produced exclusively from Touriga Nacional vines planted in the early 1980s on the Vinha
do Arco vineyard parcels at Quinta do Ataíde. These four-decade old vines yield wines of
great consistency and quality that combine concentration, structure and elegance. The entire
Quinta do Ataíde vineyard is organically farmed.

100% Touriga Nacional, sourced from the
Vinha do Arco parcels with fully mature
vines planted in soils with a rich clay
element in the traditional schist base.
AGEING & PRODUCTION
14 months in 400 L French oak barrels.
Bottled end of February 2018: 26,700
bottles and 150 magnums.
STORAGE & SERVING
Ready for immediate consumption,
although the wine has the potential to
continue developing favourably in bottle
until 2027 and beyond.
